Najarapuami

Najarapuami (Najarapuami; Najarapuame; Lucha Tarahumara) is a traditional wrestling style, originating from Chihuahua state, Mexico.
It allows grips on the opponent's garments, and doesn’t allow grip fighting/changing grips during the match.
The opponent's belt is gripped at the beginning of the bout, and is held throughout.

Techniques

We don't know much about Najarapuami's arsenal of techniques, except that leg techniques (hooks, sweeps, ect.), leg grabs, pins, submission holds and striking are not allowed/used in competition.
This makes it a very physically demanding sport, where strength matters a lot.

Objective

Matches consist of 3 rounds. Victory is obtained by throwing the opponent on the ground. The person who is able to win 2 of the 3 rounds is the winner of the match.

Competition

The matches traditionally take place on dirt. The match duration is unlimited - the match goes on until one wrestler wins.

There are no established weight classes - you could end up wrestling someone who is twice your size!
Women are allowed to participate in Najarapuami competitions as well.
