A short summary

Balban kurosh

Balban kurosh (Балбан курош) is a traditional wrestling style, originating from Kyrgizstan.
It allows grips on the opponent's garments, and doesn’t allow grip fighting/changing grips during the match.

Techniques

Regarding Balban kurosh's arsenal of techniques, we know that leg techniques (hooks, sweeps, ect.) and leg grabs are allowed, and that pins, submission holds and striking are not utilized.

Objective

Throw the opponent to the ground.

Competition

The matches traditionally take place on grass. The match duration is unlimited - the match goes on until one wrestler wins.

There are no established weight classes - you could end up wrestling someone who is twice your size!
Women are allowed to participate in Balban kurosh competitions as well.
