A short summary

Hey! Unfortunately we don't yet have a full-scale article on Tegumi. However, here is a short summary of what we know about it so far.

Tegumi

Tegumi (Tegumi (手組); Mutō (無刀)) is a traditional wrestling style, originating from Okinawa Prefecture, Japan.

We don't know much about Tegumi's arsenal of techniques, except that .

We don't yet have knowledge on whether leg techniques (hooks, sweeps, ect.) and leg grabs are trained or allowed in competition.

Objective

Pin the opponent's back to the ground (for a certain time), or submit him with jointlocks or chokes.

Competition

We don't yet know where (on what surface) the matches traditionally take place. We also don't have information about the usual match duration.

We don't know if any weight classes are established. Neither, if women are allowed to participate in Tegumi competitions or not.
