Schwingen
Schwingen (Hosenlupf) is a traditional wrestling style, originating from Switzerland. It allows grips on the opponent's garments, and allows grip fighting/changing grips during the match.
Techniques
Regarding Schwingen's arsenal of techniques, we know that leg techniques (hooks, sweeps, ect.) and pins are allowed, and that leg grabs, submission holds and striking are not utilized. Objective
Pin both the opponent's shoulders to the ground while still holding his pants with at least one hand.Competition
The matches traditionally take place on sawdust. We don't yet know what the usual match duration is.There are no established weight classes - you could end up wrestling someone who is twice your size!
Women are not allowed to participate in Schwingen competitions.
Traditionally, Schwingen is a male sport. Women's Schwingen is a more recent phenomenon, and the Frauenschwingverband, or Women's Schwingen Association, was founded in 1992. (Wikipedia)
