A short summary

Hey! Unfortunately we don't yet have a full-scale article on Laamb. However, here is a short summary of what we know about it so far.

Laamb

Laamb (Laamb, Njom, Siɲɛta) is a traditional wrestling style, originating from Senegal; Gambia.
It allows grips on the opponent's garments, and allows grip fighting/changing grips during the match.
Grips on the belt and pants are allowed.

Techniques

Regarding Laamb's arsenal of techniques, we know that leg techniques (hooks, sweeps, ect.), leg grabs and striking are allowed, and that pins and submission holds are not utilized.
Punches are allowed.

Objective

Make opponent touch the ground with any part of the body above the knee, or with both hands.

Competition

The matches traditionally take place on sand. We don't yet know what the usual match duration is.

We don't know if any weight classes are established. Neither, if women are allowed to participate in Laamb competitions or not.
