A short summary

Hey! Unfortunately we don't yet have a full-scale article on Bultong. However, here is a short summary of what we know about it so far.

Bultong

Bultong is a traditional wrestling style, originating from Ifugao, Philippines.
It allows grips on the opponent's garments, and allows grip fighting/changing grips during the match.
The match starts with grips on the belt.

Techniques

Regarding Bultong's arsenal of techniques, we know that leg techniques (hooks, sweeps, ect.) are allowed, and that leg grabs, pins, submission holds and striking are not utilized.

Objective

Throw the opponent on his back.

Competition

The matches traditionally take place on grass/dirt. We don't yet know what the usual match duration is.

There are no established weight classes - you could end up wrestling someone who is twice your size!
Women are not allowed to participate in Bultong competitions.
