A short summary

Hey! Unfortunately we don't yet have a full-scale article on Naban. However, here is a short summary of what we know about it so far.

Naban

Naban (နပန်း) is a traditional wrestling style, originating from Myanmar.
It doesn’t allow grips on the opponent's garments, and allows grip fighting/changing grips during the match.
There is a version, where both wrestlers make a grip on the belt.

Techniques

Regarding Naban's arsenal of techniques, we know that leg techniques (hooks, sweeps, ect.), pins, submission holds and striking are allowed, and that leg grabs are not utilized.
Slaps used to be allowed.

Objective

Make the opponent's back touch the ground.

Competition

The matches traditionally take place on dirt. We don't yet know what the usual match duration is.

We don't know if any weight classes are established. Neither, if women are allowed to participate in Naban competitions or not.
