Ristynes

Ristynes (Ristynės) is a traditional wrestling style, originating from Lithuania.
It allows grips on the opponent's garments, and allows grip fighting/changing grips during the match.
Two versions of rules for grips: one is with a set over-under clinch that is held for the whole match, the other allows for free grips (above the belt) and grip fighting.

Techniques

Regarding Ristynes' arsenal of techniques, we know that leg techniques (hooks, sweeps, ect.) are allowed, and that leg grabs, pins, submission holds and striking are not utilized.

Objective

Throw the opponent on his back 3 times.

Competition

The matches traditionally take place on hay/straw. We don't yet know what the usual match duration is.

We don't know if any weight classes are established. Neither, if women are allowed to participate in Ristynes competitions or not.
