Tegumi

Tegumi (Tegumi (手組); Mutō (無刀)) is a traditional wrestling style, originating from Okinawa Prefecture, Japan.
It allows grips on the opponent's garments, and allows grip fighting/changing grips during the match.

Regarding Tegumi's arsenal of techniques, we know that pins and submission holds are allowed, and that striking are not utilized.

We don't yet have knowledge on whether leg techniques (hooks, sweeps, ect.) and leg grabs are trained or allowed in competition.

Objective

Pin the opponent's back to the ground (for a certain time), or submit him with jointlocks or chokes.

Competition

We don't yet know where (on what surface) the matches traditionally take place. We also don't have information about the usual match duration.

We don't know if any weight classes are established. Neither, if women are allowed to participate in Tegumi competitions or not.
